The first Asia-Pacific Othello Championship will be held in Mongolia

APOC2023

The first Asia-Pacific Othello Championship (APOC) will be held in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia from June 23rd to June 25th 2023.

As our sole Australian participant in the tournament in Mongolia, the Australian Othello Federation would like to wish its President, Ivan Chan all the best in the first APOC.

The idea of an international tournament for the Asia-Pacific region was first envisioned some 24 years ago by the late David Tan, the founder of the Othello Association Singapore in 1999. One of his goals was to bring all the potential players of Othello in the Asia Pacific region together so they could compete at international level. One of his other aims was to bridge the gap between the Japanese players and the rest of the region.

The tournament is a welcome addition to the World Othello schedule of tournaments for the year. Hopefully it achieves its aims and becomes a regular fixture every year.

Good luck, Ivan!!!
